Remembering 9/11

We all remember that day.  Who could forget?  Where you were, what you felt, and who you were with.  It’s ingrained in all of us and it’s something that we all share.
In honor of all those first responders that were lost that day, here’s what Gresham Ford is doing through the generosity of Ford Motor Company.  Through October 3rd we’re presenting a “First Responder Program” with a major enhancement of $2,000 bonus cash on eligible 2015, 2016 and 2017 F-150 and Super Duty.  If you are a first responder, (police, fire, paramedic) or you know someone who is, we’d love for you to take of advantage of this amazing offer. There are other incentives too so come on in and ask one of our sales professionals for all the details!
Also, if you’re a runner, know someone who is or just want something fun to do to commemorate the events of 9/11, head to Historic Downtown Gresham Main City Park, 219 S Main St, this Sunday September 11th for the 2016 Springwater Half Marathon.  It’s something the whole family can enjoy.  From a kids dash starting at 7:30am, a 9/11 Recognition Ceremony a 8am followed by the start of the race and the awards ceremony at 10:30am, to finish beer garden, live music and food!  And the best part is, all the proceeds from this event will go to benefit Veterans of Foreign Wars.  For more information and to register, go to: http://www.runspringwaterhalf.com/.
On that note, the annual Veterans Stand Down will be happening again October 22nd, 2016.  Stand Downs provide services to homeless veterans such as food, shelter, clothing, health screenings, VA and Social Security benefits counseling, and referrals to a variety of other necessary services, such as housing, employment and substance abuse treatment.  Stand Downs are collaborative events, coordinated between local VAs, other government agencies, AND LOTS of community support and volunteers. If you’d like to help, donate or just want more information, please contact Amy Tipsord at atipsord@greshamford.com.

Take me out to the Ball Game!

Batter up! Can you believe Gresham has its very own baseball team? And we couldn’t be prouder to be one of their sponsors! Right here in our backyard we’ll be rooting for the home boys! And if you’re looking to get involved, here’s a great way to get up close and personal with some of the county’s best and brightest!

As the inaugural season of the Gresham GreyWolves Baseball approaches, nearing a June 3 rd Opening Day, the club is searching for interested community members to take part in the GreyWolves’ host family program. It is an amazing opportunity to be part of these player’s lives as they strive for their athletic goals.

The GreyWolves are hosting an “Informational Meeting,” and invite you to attend. Monday, May 2,
Origin’s Coffee House, 600 NW Eastman Parkway, Gresham, 5:30pm – 7:00pm. Team owners Jerry & Lisa Walker along with head coach Justin Barchus will be in attendance to explain the process, answer any questions, and give an overview of the upcoming season as a “Host Family.”

For more information about the team, the players and their summer schedule, please visit GreshamGreyWolves.com.
